This architectural and planning project sought to ameliorate the condition found at the Hamden town center, at the intersection of the two major local thoroughfares. The project entailed both office and ground floor retail and food service, site development and a parking garage. The food service and retail was designed so as to provide an open area for gathering, a pedestrian connection between the extensive on-site parking at the core of the block and the town center and a visual punctuation of the corner so as to create a sense of place and destination where before that had been lacking. Datum lines and other details of the retail facilities were designed to engage the adjacent retail establishments so as to produce a cohesive facade along the street-front. Back from the corner, the office building fronts directly onto parking with a multi-story entrance foyer.
